Virginia released their post-spring depth chart on Thursday, revealing a bit of a surprise at the quarterback position.

Matt Johns has supplanted Greyson Lambert as the team's starting signal-caller, according to Norm Wood of the Daily Press.

"Matt did the best job," Virginia head coach Mike London told the Daily Press. "He was most productive. He was most efficient. It wasn’t close. If it was close, we’d still be talking about going into August camp with two guys still fighting for the same position. Matt clearly did what he was supposed to do and led our team in a way that we think the quarterback should be able to play in order for us to be successful."

The gap London described between his two quarterbacks' play is somewhat surprising, since Lambert started over Johns last season. However, Johns saw extensive time in 2014 while filling in for an injured Lambert.

Johns, a junior, finished his sophomore season with 1,109 yards, completing just under 55 percent of his pass attempts. He threw eight touchdown passes and five interceptions.
