Louisiana Tech defeats Middle Tennessee 45-16

RUSTON, La. (AP) Kenneth Dixon ran for three touchdowns and caught a pass for another as Louisiana Tech defeated Middle Tennessee 45-16 on Saturday.
Louisiana Tech (5-3, 3-1 Conference USA) out-rushed Middle Tennessee (3-5, 2-2) with 169 yards to 33. Dixon ran 14 times for 66 yards and the Tech ground game made a difference in the meeting of two quarterbacks ranked in the top 20 nationally.
Jeff Driskel completed 18 of 28 passes for 294 yards with touchdown strikes of 55 yards to Carlos Henderson, and 35 to Dixon. The pass to Henderson broke a 7-7 tie as the Bulldogs took the lead for good.
Middle Tennessee freshman Brent Stockstill passed for a season-high 381 yards - his fourth game of more than 300 yards. He also set career marks for completions, 36, and attempts, 56. Stockstill was also intercepted twice with Bryson Abraham returning one 34 yards for a score.
