Redshirt freshman quarterback Kolton Browning threw five touchdown passes and Louisiana-Monroe beat North Texas 49-37 on Saturday.

Browning completed 18 of 23 passes for 247 yards and rushed for 73 yards. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Warhawks (5-6, 4-3 Sun Belt Conference), who have won five of the past six games in the series and three in a row.

Three of Browning's touchdown passes came in the second half, when the Warhawks overcame a 27-21 halftime deficit. Browning's 3-yard scoring pass to Frank Goodin in the third quarter gave the Warhawks the lead for good at 28-27.

Luther Ambrose was Browning's favorite target with seven catches for 140 yards and two touchdowns.

Riley Dodge threw two touchdown passes for North Texas (3-8, 3-5).

Louisiana-Monroe can become bowl eligible with a win against Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday.
