Lobos CB Tabannah to rejoin team after suspension

New Mexico sophomore cornerback Devonta Tabannah will rejoin the team next week after being suspended for a violation of team rules.
Lobos coach Bob Davie announced the decision Wednesday. He says Tabannah will be with the team Monday when the Lobos begin preparing for the Sept. 15 game at Texas Tech.
Tabannah sat out last weekend's 66-21 victory over Southern in the season opener. He was suspended Aug. 27 after he was reportedly arrested by Albuquerque police on suspicion of drunken driving.
School officials say Tabannah has agreed not to operate a motor vehicle until January as part of his penalty.
Davie says his decision to reinstate Tabannah was ''based on research of similar circumstances and suspensions involving other student-athletes around the country, as well as the manner in which Devonta has handled his mistake.''
