EUGENE, Ore. (AP) The Oregon Ducks have suspended linebacker Eddie Heard indefinitely following his arrest on misdemeanor assault and harassment charges.
Heard was arrested Wednesday night and remained in custody at the Lane County jail before his scheduled arraignment on Thursday.
Heard faces charges of fourth-degree assault and harassment, both misdemeanors. Details about the circumstances surrounding his arrest were not immediately available.
Heard, a 6-foot-3, 250-pound reserve, has appeared in all eight games for the Ducks this season. Coach Mark Helfrich announced Heard's indefinite suspension in a statement Thursday morning.
