Liberty overwhelms Brevard 59-21

Josh Woodrum threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns to lead Liberty to a 59-21 victory over Brevard Saturday.

Woodrum threw to Dexter Herman to open the scoring for Liberty (7-4). D.J. Abnar added a 10-yard scoring run late in the first to put the Flames ahead 14-0.

Brevard closed the gap to one score when Kevin Herbst hit Jordan Ollis on a 4-yard scoring strike.

Cllifton Richardson had a 7-yard rushing touchdown to give Liberty a 21-7 advantage with 9:16 remaining in the second quarter.

The Tornados (3-8) kept coming back. This time Kelvin Jeter broke for a 75-yard touchdown run to tighten the score again. Liberty then went on a scoring surge, adding 38 points to make it 59-14. The Flames scored three touchdowns in the final 5:38 of the first half.

Jeter rushed for 148 yards on 15 carries for Brevard. Liberty amassed 588 total yards.
