Leonard Fournette named as Doak Walker Award semifinalist

Having a terrific sophomore campaign, there's no question LSU running back Leonard Fournette will be up for multiple postseason honors.
On Wednesday, he was recognized as a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award -- which is given to the nation's top running back. On the season, Fournette has rushed for 1,474 yards and 17 touchdowns. He's also run to the tune of a spectacular 6.9 yards-per-carry average, and leads the entire nation in rushing yards.
With two games remaining on LSU's schedule, the talented running back has multiple opportunities to solidify himself as a top choice for this award -- as well as the Heisman Trophy.
Two other SEC running backs -- Alex Collins of Arkansas and Alabama running back Derrick Henry -- were also listed among the semifinalists.
