Kennesaw State beats Edward Waters 58-7

KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) Trey White ran for three touchdowns and threw for another, and the Kennesaw State defense returned two fumbles for scores to help the Owls beat Edward Waters 58-7 on Saturday.

Izzy Sam recovered a Tigers fumble on the game's second play and returned it 11 yards for Kennesaw State's first score. Kennesaw State (2-0) scored on its next six possessions and led 52-0 at halftime.

White had a 55-yard scoring strike to Justin Sumpter on the Owls' first offensive possession. White scored on a 21-yard run on their next drive, and twice more on 1-yard runs. Jake McKenzie scored on a 1-yard run and Darnell Holland on an 8-yard run.

McKenzie Billingslea forced Tigers quarterback Dennis Jackson's second fumble and returned it 22 yards for a score.

Ten Kennesaw State rushers combined for 307 yards. The Owls attempted just three passes.

Jackson hit Ray Dukes with a 28-yard scoring pass for NAIA's Edward Waters.
