Johnson passes Bowling Green to 48-0 win over Kent State

KENT, Ohio (AP) Matt Johnson passed for five touchdowns for the third consecutive game, and Bowling Green shut out Kent State 48-0 on Saturday.

Bowling Green (6-2, 4-0), the Mid-American Conference's top offensive team, dominated the Golden Flashes (3-5, 2-2), who came in as the conference's total defense leader, rolling up 602 yards and 31 first downs.

Johnson, who also ran for a 4-yard score, was 27 of 40 for 430 yards. The nation's passing leader has thrown for over 400 yards in six of the Falcons' eight games and has 3,321 yards and 29 TD passes. Ronnie Moore had 151 yards receiving and two touchdowns and Roger Lewis 102 yards and two scores, including a one-handed grab in the end zone and a 64-yarder in which he stole the ball from a defender.

Bowling Green, 4-0 in the MAC for first time since 2003, is bowl eligible for the fourth straight season.
