Jenkins leads Jacksonville State over Eastern Illinois 47-14

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) Eli Jenkins passed for two touchdowns and ran for another and Jacksonville State beat Eastern Illinois 47-14 on Saturday for the Gamecocks' sixth straight victory.
Josh Clemons, who rushed for two touchdowns, scored on a 1-yard run early in the game after Eastern Illinois (5-4, 3-3 Ohio Valley) lost a fumble at its own 6. The Gamecocks (7-1, 4-0) added two more first-quarter touchdowns on Jenkins' 11-yard run and his 13-yard pass to Josh Barge for a 21-0 lead.
Jenkins, who passed for 157 yards and ran for 85, moved into second place on the OVC career total yards offense list at 10,533. Barge became the first FCS player to make a reception in 46 straight games, tied later Saturday by Eastern Washington's Cooper Kupp. Roc Thomas rushed 13 times for 115 yards.
The second-ranked Gamecocks have the longest active FCS home win streak at 13 and the longest active Division I streak with their 21st consecutive conference victory.
