Cameron Starke kicked a 35-yard field goal as time expired to lift James Madison to a 20-17 win over Eastern Kentucky in the first round of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs Saturday.

James Madison (8-4) rallied from a 17-10 deficit in the fourth quarter. Jordan Anderson capped a 76-yard drive with a 24-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 17 with 10:01 remaining. Anderson scored two touchdowns, the first on a 1-yard run to give James Madison a 7-0 lead with 13:55 left in the first half.

The Dukes, who have won three straight games, will face North Dakota State in the second round of the FBS playoffs Dec. 3.

James Madison called 68 running plays and dominated possession 40:30 to 19:30.

H.B. Banjoman ran for two touchdowns while Matt Denham rushed for 125 yards for the Colonels (7-5), who won six of their last seven regular-season games.
