Jacksonville State overpowers Tennessee Tech 34-14

Kyle West threw two touchdowns to lead Jacksonville State to a 34-14 win over Tennessee Tech in an Ohio Valley Conference game Saturday.

West, who completed 11 of his 17 passes for 138 yards, got help from DaMarcus James, who rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown. Eli Jenkins put the Gamecocks (6-2, 2-2) on the board with a touchdown run from the 6-yard line in the first quarter, while Earl Calloway and Anthony Johnson both caught TD passes. Griffin Thomas kicked 44- and 47-yard field goals.

Tennessee Tech (3-6, 0-5) was held to just 99 yards passing and 280 total yards of offense by a rested Jacksonville State defense coming off a bye week. Darian Stone threw a 33-yard TD pass to Krys Cates in the second quarter, and Jared Davis carried the ball in from the 14 for a fourth-quarter score.
