Jacksonville St. 38, Murray St. 30

Washaun Ealey led a punishing ground game that helped Jacksonville State withstand the passing of Murray State for a 38-30 victory Saturday night.
Ealey, a transfer from Georgia, carried 28 times for 143 yards and two touchdowns for the Gamecocks (4-1, 3-0 Ohio Valley Conference), who amassed 329 rushing yards on 57 carries.
The Racers (2-3, 1-2) rode the arm of Casey Brockman, who came in averaging 306.5 yards per game. Against Jacksonville State he threw for 421 yards, completing 30 of 53, including two third-quarter touchdowns.
Brockman also ran for a 2-yard touchdown with 53 seconds left, a score set up by Dontrell Johnson's 54-yard punt return.
Murray State recovered the onside kick, but after picking up one first down the Racers were unable to advance beyond the Gamecocks 45.
Coty Blanchard passed for two touchdowns and 157 yards and ran for 79 on 10 carries for Jacksonville State.
