Ivory leads Cal Poly past San Diego 38-16

Kristaan Ivory took the first play from scrimmage for an 81-yard touchdown and Cal Poly never looked back, defeating San Diego 38-16 Saturday night in the season opener for both teams.
With nine seconds left before half, Ivory added 2-yard touchdown to put Cal Poly ahead 17-10. He then capped the day with a 61-yard TD during Cal Poly's first drive of the second half, giving the Mustangs a 24-10 lead. Ivory finished with 185 yards on 14 carries, averaging 13.2 yards a carry.
Akaninyene Umoh and Cole Stanford each added rushing touchdowns for the Mustangs.
San Diego tied the game at 10 when Mason Mills threw a 16-yard TD to Matt Guillaume two minutes into the second quarter. Mills finished with a pair of touchdowns and was 29 of 36 for 230 yards.
The loss spoiled Dale Lindsey's San Diego head coaching debut.
