It's never too early: Georgia offers prospect currently in 8th Grade

In the world of recruiting, the goal of any coach is to discover a potentially elite prospect before anyone else does. This way, a relationship can be fostered -- with the hopes of giving that specific school a leg-up in the recruitment of the prospect in question.
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is taking this premise to heart, as he extended an offer to 2020 prospect Michael Robertson on Wednesday.
Robertson -- an 8th grader at Savannah Christian Prep -- also turned 15 on Wednesday. Although he's yet to grace the halls of a high school, Robertson has already been given the opportunity to play for a prominent SEC institution.
"I love Georgia, I know a lot about them. I have always been a fan of Georgia since I was little," Robertson told Dawgs247. "My family is all Georgia."
The 6-foot-1, 165-pound receiver is interestingly enough the nephew of 2016 Georgia recruit Demetris Robertson. He's considered a top-10 recruit nationally by Rivals.com; could this recent offer give Georgia a leg up in the elder Robertson's recruitment?
"It is big, to have my family member that young to have an offer from Georgia," said the elite 2016 prospect. "It is a big offer for him, it is a huge deal for me and my family."
