BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) Alabama's win over rival Auburn was the most-viewed regular-season college football game on ESPN on record.
The Crimson Tide's 55-44 comeback victory in the Iron Bowl on Saturday to avenge last year's stunning loss averaged more than 13.5 million viewers. The game was on ESPN because CBS was showing the Egg Bowl between Mississippi and Mississippi State as its SEC matchup Saturday.
The previous high was nearly 10.6 million viewers for a 2009 game between USC and Ohio State.
Records go back to 1990.
