Incoming Florida State freshman Nyqwan Murray may have missed out on spring ball, but the Seminoles wide receiver will look to make up for lost time during fall camp.

Murray, a 5-11, 164-pound wideout from Oakridge High School in Florida, could not be one of the seven freshmen that enrolled early at FSU, but that didn’t stop him from preparing for the day he steps foot on the Seminoles football field.

“I feel good. I put in work every day ... work out with coach and make sure I’m ready and in shape,” Murray told the Sun Sentinel after a workout with his own personal trainer and coach Chris Mitchell. “I’m anxious; I’m so anxious. I wish I could go now. ... I wish I could go today, but the journey is coming.”

The explosive Murray has been a force during his final two seasons at Oak Ridge where, according to the Sun Sentinel, he caught 158 passes for 2,828 yards and 34 touchdowns.

Murray, a three-star wide receiver, is hoping to have a similar impact for the Seminoles.

“It’s about time to go to college. I’m going to one of the biggest colleges in the nation, so I gotta get ready,” Murray told the Sun Sentinel. “Anything that comes around, I’ll be all right up there. I feel pretty comfortable.

“… We’re going to be a great group of wide receivers. A lot of freshmen, a lot of sophomores. ... We just gotta bring it all together.”
