Holy Cross defeats Central Connecticut St 52-21

Ryan Laughlin had a career-high four touchdowns and Holy Cross defeated Central Connecticut State 52-21 Saturday night.

Laughlin, who had his first start of the season in last week's loss to Towson, was 7 of 14 for 103 yards and three touchdowns. Laughlin hit Mike Fess for a 14-yard touchdown to end the first half, giving Holy Cross (1-2) a 21-14 lead that they never relinquished.

Laughlin, the third leading rusher on the team last season, also rushed for 64 yards on 15 carries and one touchdown, leading the Crusaders to 522 total yards.

Reggie Woods had 24 carries and a career-high 153 yards as the Crusaders tallied 419 rushing yards, their most since 1983.

Central Connecticut State (0-3) pulled within ten before Roman SanDoval returned a fumble 11 yards for a touchdown to give Holy Cross a 38-21 lead.

Rob Hollomon led the Blue Devils with two rushing touchdowns.
