Holy Cross 16, Bucknell 13

Ryan Taggert threw two touchdowns as Holy Cross edged Bucknell 16-13 Saturday.
Taggert connected with Gerald Mistretta from 5 yards out to give Holy Cross (4-3, 2-0 Patriot League) a 7-3 lead late in the first quarter. His second score came on another 5-yard pass, this time to Mike Fess, to help the Knights retake the lead 13-6.
Taggert finished with 380 yards on 32-of-58 attempts, and Nate Stanley grabbed nine of those passes for 109 yards.
John Macomber's 30 yard field goal gave Holy Cross a 16-13 lead.
The Holy Cross defense, led by cornerback Chandler Fenner, stymied Bucknell (4-4,1-2) all game, only allowing just 146 total yards and eight first downs, while recording six sacks. Fenner finished with eight tackles, a sack and a pass breakup.
Bucknell struggled to move the ball all day, gaining only 2.9 yards per play and converted only 3 of 17 third-down attempts.
