Green's breakout in '14 boosts TCU back among state's best in '15

Aaron Green, the floor is yours.

The TCU running back who started his career at Nebraska, will be the Horned Frogs' featured running back in 2015 as they chase a Big 12 championship, a playoff spot and potentially a national championship.

With B.J. Catalon exiting school early to take a shot at the NFL, Green moves into the prime-time slot in TCU's high-powered spread offense that took the Big 12 by storm last season and finished second nationally in points per game (46.4).

Green took off in the latter part of the season after Catalon sustained a concussion in Week 8 at West Virginia and never made it back. Green gained 544 yards and six touchdowns in the last five games.

His performances sparked the Dallas Morning News to rank TCU's rushing attack as the second-best in the state of Texas, behind only Baylor, which is led by 1,000-yard rusher Shock Linwood.

TCU's backfield will be in good hands with Green getting the bulk of the load. Power back Trevorris Johnson will provide a change of pace for the spread offense that hardly junked the rushing game -- the Frogs eclipsed 2,000 rushing yards last season for the first time since 2011 in its more traditional offensive scheme.
