Georgia interim coach Bryan McClendon added to Will Muschamp's SC staff

New Gamecock head coach Will Muschamp continues to add to an already impressive coaching staff at South Carolina with the addition of Georgia interim coach Bryan McClendon. McClendon will serve as co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach for the Gamecocks.
“Bryan is an up-and-comer in the coaching profession,” Muschamp said, according to the school. “It says a lot about his abilities as a coach to be named the interim head coach for the Bulldogs in their bowl game.”
Muschamp also announced the hiring of Pat Washington as tight ends coach and the retention of Jamie Speronis as Associate Athletics Director/Football Operations.
McClendon will continue to serve as the Bulldogs head coach until the conclusion of the TaxSlayer Bowl between Georgia and Penn State.
Adding McClendon to the staff comes with the added bonus of landing one of college football's best recruiters, helping the Gamecocks compete for recruits with several SEC powers as well as 2015 ACC champion Clemson.
McClendon has been credited as Georgia's lead recruiter for five elite five-star signees -- Isaiah Crowell, Keith Marshall, Lorenzo Carter, Sony Michel and Nick Chubb -- as well as Todd Gurley and numerous other four-star recruits.
