FSU scores big bucks with 'Bama, Ole Miss games

When Florida State scheduled neutral site football games with Alabama and Ole Miss, the Seminoles were looking to score high-profile victories as well as big bucks.
The former is yet to be determined, the latter is guaranteed. FSU AD Stan Wilcox recently said that Florida State scores a minimum of $1 million more than what it would make for a home game every time it plays a neutral site contest.
FSU is currently working on a deal with Alabama where the two teams are expected to kick off the 2017 in Atlanta, and that game could pull in as much $2 million in extra profit.
"We generally will not go to a neutral-site game unless we can make a minimum of $1 million more than we would at home," Wilcox said. "This game, we're looking at probably making about $2 million."
In 2014, the Seminoles neutral site game against Oklahoma State raked in $3.5 million and FSU's 2016 contest with Ole Miss in Orlando is expected to do the same.
