FSU football is one win away from tying the all time series with Miami at 31-30. However, if you can’t the “FSU Effect”, the ‘Noles now lead the all time series.

FSU football is on a much-needed  bye in week eight, but all eyes were on the Miami vs. Virginia Tech football game Thursday night.

Miami got off to a blistering start to the season after playing low-level competition. All folk heard was how they were “back” and how they were finally going to beat FSU.

Miami hosted FSU football a couple of weeks ago as the No. 10 team in the nation. FSU football  had just lost to UNC on a last second 54 yard field goal, and Miami fans smelled blood in the water in hopes of breaking their six game losing streak to FSU.

In typical fashion, Miami jumped out to a big lead, but FSU mounted a second half comeback to Shang Tsung their souls and cause them to fold their seasons.

FSU Effect

Make no mistake about it. The “FSU Effect” is a REAL thing for Miami. As we wrote months ago, it’s their Super Bowl, and if they lose to FSU their season goes down the drain.

Exhibit A

That is incredible. Miami is now 1-7 since 2013 when they have lost to FSU, and have now lost seven consecutive games to the ‘Noles. They haven’t won against FSU on their “home” field since 2004.

The FSU Effect is real folks. It’s so real that we’re going to count those seven losses as wins for FSU, since Miami allows those losses to turn into several each year after losing to FSU.

But Mark Richt Will Save The Program

That’s all Miami fans were saying when Richt was hired, and how “Da U” was going to be back. The same stuff they were saying when Al Golden was hired, and we saw how that turned out.

Guess what?

Miami didn’t get any real recruiting momentum from the Mark Richt hire. They have 19 commitments for their 2017 class and 68 percent of them are three-star recruits.

Guess what? He did!

Conclusion

We knew the FSU Effect was real. In fact, check out this Twitter Poll we posted after Miami lost to FSU.

We predicted this would happen, and there’s a good chance Miami could lose two more games if Notre Dame can get their defense situated.

However, it’s not like Miami’s offense is setting the world on fire as UNC’s defense held them to 13 points. Virginia Tech’s defense held them to a mere16 points Thursday night.

The Miami defense is young, starting true freshmen at linebacker so there’s no surprise there.

However, Mark Richt is an offensive coach with a third year quarterback that will be taken in the 2017 NFL Draft.

If Miami’s struggling on offense this year, how in the world do they expect to be “back” next year?
