The FSU football fanbase got skittish last year when they found out LSU wanted to fire Les Miles and hire Jimbo Fisher. On Sunday they reacted to Miles getting fired.

LSU fired Les Miles on Sunday and the FSU fan base reacted, but it wasn’t the same reaction as last year.

In the midst of the FSU defense being in a funk and current defensive coordinator Charles Kelly feeling the heat, some FSU fans want Les Miles to come coach the FSU defense.

After all, it wasn’t the LSU defense that was the problem. It was the offense that seemingly wasted tons of talent playing three yards and a cloud of dust football.

The only problem is Les Miles doesn’t and has not coached defense. He has coached the offensive line and tight ends in his career as well as been offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State before becoming head coach there in 2001.

That’s what got him fired, poor offenses with incredible talent.

Check out how some Nole fans reacted to the news of Miles getting the axe:

FSU Defensive Coordinator

Yep, some fans really want Miles to come be Jimbo’s defensive coordinator even though he has never coached defense to my knowledge.

Then of course the rumors of Jimbo Fisher leaving FSU to be the head coach at LSU are already firing on all cylinders.

Conclusion

We immediately thought of some of the ways Les Miles being fired could help FSU. Admittedly, him coming to FSU to be the defensive coordinator wasn’t something I thought of at the time because doesn’t coach defense.

However, it’s something I would not be against if he could improve the current FSU product. Miles is a great recruiter.

It’ll be interesting to see who pursues him and how long it takes for him to be on the sidelines again.

As far as Fisher leaving FSU? I don’t think he’ll leave FSU right now, unless there are circumstances we’re not aware of at present time.

How much more prestigious is the LSU job compared to FSU? Fisher has already coached in the SEC, so that allure alone wouldn’t be enough. FSU is located in a state that arguably produces the most elite talent in the nation.

The ACC is on the come up as a conference and isn’t viewed as some scrub league like in years past.
