FSU Football at N.C. State: Halftime Recap

Here’s a look back at the first half of action from FSU Football’s latest game as they take on the N.C. State Wolfpack in Raleigh, North Carolina.
After another heartbreaking loss last week when the Seminoles fell just short against Clemson, FSU is back on the road – outside the state of Florida for the first time since mid-September – as the ‘Noles go under the lights against N.C. State.
Raleigh has been a house of horrors of late for FSU football, who are just 4-5 in their last nine trips to the capital of the Tar Heel State. Thus, the Seminoles wanted to strike early and often against their Atlantic Division foe.
Things did start right for the Seminoles when Tarvarus McFadden came up with his FBS leading seventh interception of the season:
The ‘Noles and Wolfpack would exchange punts for much of the first quarter. N.C. State would get on the board first with a 28 yard touchdown pass on third and long:
FSU football would drive down and get a 32 yard field goal from Ricky Aguayo early in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 7-3. The Wolfpack would respond by driving inside the 15 yard line before missing their field goal attempt.
After forcing a FSU punt, the Wolfpack would get a field goal to go up 10-3. The Seminoles would go into their two minutes drill and drive the length of the field – led by a long reception from Deondre Francois to Auden Tate – before Jacques Patrick would punch it in for the score and tie the game:
N.C. State would have one last drive before the half, hitting the 39 yard field goal to take a 13-10 lead. FSU football found themselves being doubled up in all the major categories, as the Wolfpack outgained the ‘Noles 285 to 136 in the first 30 minutes (with 208 of those yards coming through the air) as well as having 18 first downs to FSU’s nine.
