Here’s a look at the first half highlights from FSU football’s game against the Louisville Cardinals.

The first game between Top 10 teams in the ACC didn’t take place between FSU football and a team from South Carolina, but instead it’s between the second ranked ‘Noles and the latest team to join as a full time member: the 10th ranked Louisville Cardinals.

Early on, the Seminoles felt the loss of Derwin James on defense as Lamar Jackson and the Cardinals went down field and got on the board first, thanks to a long catch by Jaylen Smith:

Later in the quarter – after Ricky Aguayo missed his first field goal as a Seminole when a 49 yarder went wide left – Jackson led the Cardinals down the field and finished off with his second rushing touchdown of the first half:

FSU got on the board with Aguayo’s 47 yard field goal before the end of the quarter. The Seminoles’ defense stepped up to start the second quarter, forcing a field goal attempt Louisville couldn’t convert. The Seminoles would take advantage and march down field, led by a big run from Jacques Patrick and a gorgeous touchdown strike from Deondre Francois to Auden Tate:

Louisville responded with a touchdown and quickly got the first turnover on a bobbled handoff between Francois and Dalvin Cook, converting for another score as part of a 35-10 lead before the half:

Through two quarters, the Cardinals are dominating the stat line in this game, outgaining the Seminoles 375 to 144 while nearly doubling up the ‘Noles on first downs, 17 to 9.
