Fresno State defensive coordinator Randy Stewart has stepped down from his role and will be replaced by Tim Skipper.

Coach Pat Hill announced the move Sunday night, saying a change was needed.

The Bulldogs (3-7, 2-3 WAC) have lost three straight conference games. They have allowed 134 points in the losses, capped by Saturday's 48-45 loss to New Mexico State. Fresno State is allowing 37.4 points per game this season.

Skipper is in his sixth season on staff and had been coaching the linebackers.
