Former Syracuse OL Hickey motivated by draft snub

If you were shocked that Syracuse offensive lineman Sean Hickey did not hear is name called during the NFL draft, you weren’t the only one.
In an article published by Syracuse.com, Hickey admitted to being frustrated by the lack of interest by NFL teams during the draft.
"It was a tough, tough process waiting and waiting like that," Hickey told Syracuse.com. "I think the toughest part of it was seeing linemen go that I knew I was better than. There were times when it was like, 'Are you kidding me?'"
The 6-5, 309-pound Hickey, who has since signed a free agent deal with the New Orleans Saints, has an extensive medical history that includes torn labrums in both shoulders, a torn PCL in his right knee, and a torn ACL in his left knee, which is likely why teams opted to pass on him during the draft.
Hickey had free agent offers from other NFL teams, but was inspired by what he heard from New Orleans coach Sean Payton and the Saints organization.
"They told me that if I come in and be the player that I know that I can be, I have an extremely high chance of making their team," Hickey told Syracuse.com. "That was the main reason that I picked them."
