Florida cornerback Marcus Roberson will miss the remainder of the season after injuring his neck at South Carolina.

Coach Will Muschamp announced Roberson's injury Monday, saying the freshman from Fort Lauderdale is still being evaluated.

But Muschamp adds that the injury is not career threatening and that Roberson should be fine in four to six weeks. Muschamp says Roberson strained his neck against the Gamecocks and that the team's medical staff is ''just taking precautionary measures.'' Muschamp says Roberson will return for spring football.

Roberson started every game this season, recording 22 tackles and an interception.
