Wes Carroll threw a pair of touchdown passes to help Florida International defeat North Texas 34-10 Saturday night.
Carroll connected with Greg Ellingson for a 50-yard score just 2:17 into the game. He also found T.Y. Hilton for a 43-yard touchdown in the second quarter as the Golden Panthers (2-4, 2-0 Sun Belt) built a 27-3 halftime lead.
Carroll was 17 of 31 for 288 yards and did not throw an interception. Darriet Perry ran for 98 yards for Florida International.
Lance Dunbar scored the only touchdown for the Mean Green (1-6, 1-3) in the fourth quarter. The 9-yard TD was set up by a 64-yard run by Craig Robertson on a fake punt.
