Duquesne outlasts Monmouth 33-23

Dillon Buechel threw three touchdown passes, including the go-ahead TD in the fourth quarter, as Duquesne took down Monmouth 33-23 on Saturday.
Duquesne (7-4) scored the first 13 points of the game but Monmouth (6-6) fought back to tie it at 23 early in the fourth quarter on Brandon Hill's 17-yard touchdown pass to Neal Sterling. The Hawks tied the game with a 2-point conversion as Hill found Sterling again.
Duquesne responded on the ensuing possession with a 5-yard touchdown pass from Buechel to Ethan Dorsey. The Dukes defense forced a turnover on downs late in the fourth quarter to preserve the lead, which led to a late field goal for Duquesne.
Buechel had 223 yards passing and set Duquesne single-season records for passes and attempts.
Hill completed three touchdown passes on 278 yards passing for Monmouth. Michael McLafferty caught four passes for 113 yards and a touchdown.
