Steve Valentino threw for 223 yards and two touchdowns and Taylor Harris ran for two scores as Dayton beat Davidson 37-13 in a Pioneer League game on Saturday.

Valentino, who was 11-for-17, also carried 12 times for 57 yards. His 69-yard pass to Tyler Hujik gave the Flyers (8-1, 6-0) a 14-3 second-quarter lead and his 29-yarder to Anthony Papp made it 27-6 in the third.

The Wildcats (2-6, 2-4) drew to within 27-13 on Jonathan Carkhuff's 5-yard pass to Josh Yost later in the period, but they lost the ball on downs at the Dayton 26 on their next possession. The Flyers drove 74 yards in seven plays, going ahead 34-13 on Tyler Harris's 30-yard run.

Harris also scored on an 18-yard run in the first quarter and finished with 60 yards on seven carries.

Carkhuff was 23-for-39 for 197 yards for Davidson, but he was intercepted twice, leading to 10 of Dayton's points.
