Columbia 34, Cornell 17

Sean Brackett threw three touchdown passes and Columbia scored the last 27 points to stun Cornell 34-17 Saturday.
The Lions (3-6, 2-4 Ivy League), coming off a 69-0 loss at Harvard, trailed 17-7 shortly before halftime. The first of Luke Eddy's field goals, a 44-yarder on the last play of the first half, kick-started a scoring avalanche.
Marcorus Garrett, who led Columbia in rushing with 187 yards, got 86 of them on one play. His long-distance scoring jaunt tied it 17-17 early in the third quarter. The Lions took the lead for good on Brackett's 22-yard touchdown pass to Hamilton Garner for a 24-17 lead.
Eddy's second field goal, a 38-yarder early in the fourth quarter, put Columbia up by 10. The second of Brackett's scoring passes, a 27-yarder to Chris Connor for his second touchdown, closed out the scoring. It left Cornell (4-5, 2-4) stunned and Columbia jubilant.
