College football week seven is upon us. We take a look at the top five bets to make as we’re halfway through the football season.
The sixth week of the college football season saw a huge upset when Navy beat No. 6 Houston. The loss allowed Nebraska and Wisconsin enter the top 10 rankings.
We had a break even week last week, finishing at 2-2-1.
Recap
-Initially we took the OVER 64.5 in the NC State/Notre Dame game. However, we didn’t realize the game was going to be played in a freaking hurricane. This game should have never been played, luckily we bought off this play with an UNDER 54.5. That’s right the line moved TEN points due to the weather. The total landed at 13. Win…however, I’m going to count this as a PUSH since we had to buy off the original bet due to the weather.
-We took Virginia Tech +3 against UNC and Virginia Tech laid the smack down against the Tarheels winning outright by four touchdowns. This game was played in hurricane weather too which favored the VT defense who’s much better than UNC’s defense and created a ton of turnovers. Win
-We took Miami -1.5 first half against FSU. As customary, FSU was sleep walking during the first half and Miami took a 13-3 going into the half. Win
-Next we took Maryland -1.5 against Penn State on the road. Bad bet…Penn State ran all over the Terrapins. Loss
-We took Cincinnati -3 against UCONN. Cincinnati jumped out to a 9-0 lead on three field goals and promptly lost 20-9. Garbage. Loss
We’re 12-15-3 on the season. Let’s get into our top five bets and let’s get some positive momentum going for us.

UNC +7.5 vs. Miami
Time: 3:30 p.m.
How to watch: ABC/ESPN2
Where: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami, FL
Thoughts
UNC isn’t as bad as the thumping they took against Virginia Tech last week. Plus, VT’s defense is better than Miami’s defense. Miami is coming off an emotional loss to its arch nemesis Florida State.
Gimme the points with a potent offense.

Pittsburgh -3 vs. Virginia
Time: 12:30 p.m.
How to watch: ACC Network
Where: Scott Stadium, Charlottesville, VA
Thoughts
Pittsburgh averages almost 10 more points per game than Virginia, and has a much better defense according to S&P+ metrics.
Pittsburgh has also played against better competition thus far. Scott Stadium isn’t an intimidating place to play. I like Pittsburgh to cover the three points here.

NC State +18 vs. Clemson
Time: 12:00 p.m.
How to watch: ABC
Where: Memorial Stadium, Clemson, SC
Thoughts
“Death Valley” at noon isn’t nearly as intimidating as an 8 p.m. game. NC State’s offense is balanced and their defense is ranked No. 20 in the nation according to S&P+ metrics.
Clemson depends on a lot of explosive plays and Deshaun Watson’s legs to move the chains and put points on the board. I think NC State keeps this one around two scores, plus we have a field goal cushion that would avoid a push at 17.
Good luck with our college football bets and please remember to bet responsibly.
