After being a force in one of the best defenses in the country last season, former Clemson inside linebacker Tony Steward will now get a chance to play for one of the best defensive minds in the NFL. On Saturday, Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan selected Steward with the 188th overall pick in the sixth round of the NFL draft.
The 6-1, 241-pound Steward has had two ACL surgeries, but managed to become a starter for Clemson, who led the nation in total defense in 2014.
Steward was the Tigers third-leading tackler last season with 73, and was named Clemson’s Special Teams Player of the Year in 2012 and 13.
