Clemson football wide receiver Hunter Renfrow will reportedly miss at least a month with a broken bone in his hand, Dabo Swinney said on Monday.

Clemson football wide receiver Hunter Renfrow will reportedly miss at least a month with a broken bone in his hand.

At a Sunday night teleconference, Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney said he thought Renfrow would be fine and that they expected him to play this weekend.

“We expect Hunter to practice,” Swinney said via Tigernet. “He finished the game. He’s got a place under his thumb area that they’re going to check tomorrow but they don’t think it’s anything that will keep him out.”

Unfortunately, an MRI showed a scaphoid fracture under Renfrow’s thumb that will make him miss a large period of time.

Renfrow injured his hand on a spectacular touchdown catch against Troy on Saturday.

Normally it takes around 1-2 months to heal from an injury like this, but it also depends on its severity. Swinney is hopeful that Hunter Renfrow will return to the field before Florida State, but that remains to be seen.

Hopefully Hunter Renfrow will be back before too long because he was the consistent player on offense thus far in 2016.

He had made several great catches and did an awesome job blocking as well. This is a huge loss for the team and now it will be up to the guys behind Renfrow to step up and make some plays in his absence.

Trevion Thompson is listed as Hunter’s backup, but I wouldn’t be surprised to a guy like Ray Ray McCloud jump over there or even see Artavis Scott play the slot instead.

We hope for a speedy recovery for Hunter Renfrow and wish him nothing but the best going forward.
