Clarke's 5 TDs lift Valparaiso to 42-35 win over Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP) Ryan Clarke threw five touchdown passes, including the game-winner to Griffin Norberg with less than two minutes remaining, lifting Valparaiso to a 42-35 win over Davidson on Saturday.
Valparaiso took advantage of John Cook's 15-yard punt late in the fourth quarter and started the drive at midfield. Clarke led the Crusaders (1-3, 1-1 Pioneer Football League) down the field in six plays, ending in a 12-yard strike to Norberg on third-and-5. Clarke finished 18 of 32 for 244 yards, Brandon Hall had 98 yards rushing and Frank Catrine caught nine passes for 135 yards and two scores.
Kellan Hughes intercepted Taylor Mitchell on the ensuing drive, icing the game for Valparaiso.
William Curran had two interceptions for Davidson (0-4, 0-2), which was seeking its first conference win since 2012. Curran's second interception set up William Morris's second touchdown catch of the day, giving Davidson a short-lived 35-28 lead.
