Chop Chat's ACC Bowl Projections Through Week 10 Games

With 10 weeks of the 2016 season done, here is who the ACC will be sending to each of their bowl game spots according to the Chop Chat staff.

Week 10 has come and gone in college football – and for the ACC, it means two more teams became bowl eligible. With wins by Florida State over N.C. State and Wake Forest over Virginia, both the Seminoles and Demon Deacons got their sixth win of the year.

Those victories now give the conference six teams who have reached bowl eligibility at this point in the season. Six more teams are within two games of that mark with three games to go (with three of them just one game away), so the ACC may not have a problem filling their 11 possible tie-ins for bowl games – except for the fact many of those teams still play each other.

Here’s a look at where the Chop Chat team thinks each of the eligible teams will be spending their postseason this December and January.

College Football Playoff

Clemson Tigers – Dabo Swinney’s team looks to be coasting into the four team field after getting past FSU two weeks ago.

Capital One Orange Bowl

Louisville Cardinals – Lamar Jackson and friends are riding that line about getting into the playoff, but don’t have the end of year schedule to do it.

Russell Athletic Bowl

Florida State Seminoles – Winning out might send the 9-3 ‘Noles to the Citrus Bowl instead, so either way it’s back to Orlando for FSU.

Belk Bowl

Virginia Tech Hokies – The ACC would love to see a full house in the tier two bowls, so the Hokies will stay close to home even if they win the Coastal.

Pinstripe Bowl

North Carolina Tar Heels – UNC had enough national appeal (thanks to basketball) that they will get Northeast fans to The Bronx for this one.

Sun Bowl

Wake Forest Demon Deacons – Getting back to the postseason means a trip down to the West Texas town of El Paso.

Music City OR TaxSlayer

Miami Hurricanes – If the ‘Canes can turn it around and sweep their November games, they will be attractive to bowl selection committees.

Independence

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets – Paul Johnson’s team might have just enough to get to .500 and go back to a bowl game.

Quick Lane

Pittsburgh Panthers – A 7-5 finish seems likely for a team that was once in the running for the Coastal Division, so it’s off to Detroit.

Military and St. Petersburg

Syracuse Orange, N.C. State Wolfpack or Boston College Eagles – All three teams sit at 4-5 with ‘Cuse still playing FSU and Pitt, N.C. State taking on Miami and UNC while BC has FSU and Wake.
