Chizik: Auburn signee facing medical issue

Auburn coach Gene Chizik says football signee Shon Coleman is dealing with a medical issue.

While Chizik did not provide details after Monday's practice, the offensive lineman's mother, DeKeisha Tunstall, posted on her Facebook page that Coleman had been recently diagnosed with a form of cancer. She wrote that he was ``taking his chemotherapy treatment like a champ.''

Chizik says he has spoken with Coleman and his family and would stay in touch with them. He says they have never even brought up the subject of football.

The 6-foot-7, 285-pound Coleman was the top-rated recruit out of Mississippi by Rivals.com.
