Wynrick Smothers threw five touchdown passes to five different receivers Saturday night and led Central Arkansas to a 42-20 non-conference victory over Murray State.

Smothers, who completed 31 of 41 passes for 358 yards, was sensational. In the first half alone, he was 20-for-26 for 227 yards and four touchdowns of 18 yards, 10, 3 and his longest completion of the night: a 74-yarder to Dominique Croom, who finished with 10 receptions for 184 yards.

In the fourth quarter, Smothers completed his night with his fifth scoring pass, a 12-yard reception by Thomas Hart.

The Bears, who lost their opener to Ole Miss, evened their record at 1-1. For Murray State, now 0-2, quarterback Casey Brockman was sensational as well. He passed for 445 yards, completing 41 of 63 attempts. But Brockman only threw one scoring pass as the Racers dropped to 0-2.
