Cards DE Rankins to play in Senior Bowl

Louisville defense end Sheldon Rankins has accepted an invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.

The 6-2, 302-pound senior DE has been a force for the Cardinals, racking up 44 tackles and 5.5 sacks.

Rankins, an all-ACC third-team performer last season, has tallied 10.5 tackles for a loss this season and has also returned a fumble 46 yards for a touchdown.

The Senior Bowl will take place on Jan. 30 at 2:30 p.m.

Louisville (6-4, 5-2) will be back in action Saturday when it plays at Pitt (7-3, 5-1) at 3:45 p.m.
