Canes waste 23-point lead, then top Nebraska 36-33 in OT

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) Michael Badgley kicked a 28-yard field goal in overtime, and Miami wasted a 23-point fourth-quarter lead before beating Nebraska 36-33 on Saturday.
Corn Elder intercepted a pass from Nebraska's Tommy Armstrong at the goal line on the first play of overtime, and the Cornhuskers added to their problems by having an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty tacked on the end of that play. That gave Miami the ball at the Nebraska 13 to start their OT series, and after three running plays Badgley came on for the game-winner.
Brad Kaaya passed for 379 yards and two touchdowns for Miami, which got 125 rushing yards and a score from Joe Yearby. Badgley kicked five field goals for the Hurricanes (3-0).
Armstrong threw four TD passes, three of them in the final 8:36 of regulation for Nebraska (1-2) - rallying his team from a 33-10 deficit after Miami had two safeties ejected for targeting.
