Ohio State might be the consensus No. 1 college football team among poll voters, but the Buckeyes haven't convinced the computers used by the Bowl Championship Series that they belong on top.
According to Brad Edwards, who tracks the BCS for ESPN, the Buckeyes sit fifth in the BCS standings. Boise State is No. 1, followed by Oregon, Texas Christian and Oklahoma.
OSU is 10th in the composite of six computer rankings, mostly because of a relatively low strength of schedule. The computer rankings are one-third of the BCS formula, and the coaches poll and Harris poll are each one-third.
The first official BCS ratings of the season will be released Sunday, the day after OSU plays at Wisconsin.
