Bryant beats Merrimack 40-14

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) Dalton Easton threw two touchdown passes and Patrick Kenney returned an interception 56 yards for another score Saturday to help Bryant beat Division II Merrimack 40-14.

Bryant (2-0) held the Warriors to 69 yards rushing while amassing 403 total yards, including 123 on 16 carries by Paul Canevari, who also scored on a 3-yard run.

Kenney picked off Joe Capobianco's pass late in the third quarter to make it 40-0.

The Warriors dug in in the fourth, with Armond McRae scoring on 81-yard run and Capobianco adding a 1-yard TD run. Capobianco finished 12 of 22 for 181 yards passing.

Easton threw a 31-yard TD pass to Jose Depadua and a 17-yard scoring strike to Taylor Barthelette, and was 10 of 15 for 116 yards passing.

Depadua scored on an 18-yard run, and Ricardo McCray made it 26-0 with a 19-yard scoring run.
