Brennan Scarlett is Stanford's gain, Cal's loss

Defensive end Brennan Scarlett played for the Cal Bears for four seasons, yet he never got the chance to play in the Big Game. Scarlett has missed significant time over the course of his college career due to injuries.
Now healthy, Scarlett will have the opportunity to play against his old team in the Big Game as a member of the Stanford Cardinal.
Scarlett is a big, athletic defensive end who showed promise while healthy at Cal. With Stanford's loss of Henry Anderson and other defensive standouts, Scarlett has a golden opportunity to make a difference for his new team.
Scarlett chose to go to Stanford as a graduate transfer not to spite his old team, but to reunite with his brother Cameron, a freshman running back.
“It means a lot to me,” Scarlett said of joining his brother, according to Tom Fitzgerald of the San Francisco Chronicle. “We’re very close.”
When asked if he would have come to Stanford without his brother, Brennan said, “That’s hard to say. Everything in the whole process lined up perfectly.”
