The cleanup following Clemson's upset defeat to Georgia Tech last weekend was greater for quarterback Tajh Boyd than his teammates, after the sophomore returned home to find his house had been pelted with eggs.

The 31-17 loss in Atlanta likely ended the Tigers' national title hopes Saturday night.

Boyd completed 23 of 40 passes for 290 yards and a touchdown in the game, but also had two interceptions against the Yellow Jackets.

He confirmed Wednesday that the house he shares with roommates was targeted later in the evening.

Boyd told the Charleston newspaper The Post and Courier he had no proof the eggs were hurled by disgruntled fans, but added that there were "extremist" sections in every fan base.

Despite a disappointing game Saturday, Boyd is enjoying a fine season, throwing for 2,674 yards with 25 touchdowns, while Saturday's two interceptions made it only five picks in 318 throwing attempts.
