Boston College quarterback Chase Rettig is day to day with a sprained left ankle.

Rettig was injured in Saturday night's 31-13 loss to Notre Dame. It was the college debut for the freshman.

Eagles coach Frank Spaziani said Sunday that Rettig would be re-evaluated this week. Rettig did not practice Sunday and the team is off Monday. Rettig was 5 of 10 for 72 yards, including a 58-yard touchdown pass.

He was hurt on Boston College's first possession of the second quarter and replaced by Mike Marscovetra, who finished 22 of 37 for 193 yards and interceptions on back-to-back drives in the fourth quarter.
