Bohannon takes over as Kennesaw State's 1st coach
Brian Bohannon has formally taken over as Kennesaw State's first football coach.
Bohannon was introduced at a news conference Tuesday on the campus in suburban Atlanta. The Owls are launching an NCAA Division I program that will begin play in the Football Championship Subdivision in 2015.
Bohannon is a long-time assistant to Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson, spending the last five years working with quarterbacks and B-backs. He'll be moving to a fledgling program that already has an 8,300-seat stadium on campus but still must find a football-playing conference.
The new coach describes Kennesaw State as ''a special place'' with the potential to become a football power. He has deep ties to the state as a former Georgia player who coached at Georgia Southern and Georgia Tech.
