Berry leads Lamar to 31-20 win over Incarnate Word

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) Caleb Berry threw for 234 yards and three touchdowns to lead Lamar to a 31-20 win over Incarnate Word on Saturday night.

Lamar (7-3, 4-3 Southland Conference) now has the most wins since the 1974 team won eight games. The Cardinals will finish the season at McNeese State Saturday.

Kade Harrington had 25 carries for 143 yards and one touchdown. Mark Roberts, who became the first receiver in school history to have 1,000 receiving yards, pulled in four passes for 124 yards and one touchdown.

The Cardinals held a slim 21-13 lead at the half. Berry found Roberts on a 78-yard scoring strike early in the third for a 28-13 lead.

Broderick Reeves, who rushed for 99 yards on 12 carries, scored twice in the first half to keep Incarnate Word (2-9, 2-6) close.

IWU's Jordan Scelfo threw for 158 yards and one touchdown.
