Beer at Tiger Stadium? LSU AD says 'it's going to happen'

There's nothing quite like a fall Saturday night in Death Valley.
Now, imagine the atmosphere at Tiger Stadium if fans were allowed to buy beer?
Good news, Tigers fans!
LSU athletic director Joe Alleva said bringing that option to Baton Rouge is inevitable, although there's no specific timetable yet.
"As we talk about fan experience, which is very important, I think there may come a day that we may sell beer at college events at LSU," Alleva said at the Baton Rouge Press Club on Monday. "At some point, I think it's going to happen."
Currently, the Southeastern conference forbids any of its members from selling beer at athletic events.
LSU wouldn't be breaking new ground, of course. Texas is considering opening the taps at games, and West Virginia is already selling beer at football games.
One bit of good news: Since changing its beer policy in 2011, West Virginia has found alcohol-related incidents decreased while the university profited from $500,000 in sales.
If more universities find alchohol-related arrests and other issues decrease -- or at least don't increase -- with beer available in stadiums, then it stands to reason many more will take advantage of the additional revenue stream.
